After weeks of near sleepless nights, hundreds of hours of testing and even more in development we’ve finally completed the final 2% of tasks and Danger Alliance: Battles has been submitted to the App Store!
It’s been an exciting two years of development as we sweated it out to create our vision of perfection – a 3D tactical turn based game that’s gorgeous and pays high attention to the fine detail.
This isn’t just a slapped together tactical mashup – this is art – with all the trimmings. So much thought has gone into every element – every character – every weapon – every level – even every different screen orientation on every different device to make the interface perfect for how you’re playing the game. And the AI has been providing a competitive challenge to our Beta testers on normal difficulty (no buffs or handicaps – an even playing field for you and the AI) which is really exciting.
We’re just so excited and proud of what we’ve accomplished and we just can’t wait for you guys to try it out. Despite being forced to play it 24/7 for testing, I still load it up and play it for fun :D
Thanks for hanging in there – this is going to be awesome !!
As work on Danger Alliance 1.0 is almost completely wrapped up, I find myself with a little spare time. Well, when you’ve tackled twenty or more DA missions in a day and only found a few minor bugs, you know it’s time to get on with some other things.
Along with many other tweaks, the ‘hard’ difficulty setting got a boost not too long ago and has been kicking my butt for most of today. The enemy now has increased health as well as skill. Although, perhaps they should remember not to stand in a straight line when my Incinerator is nearby (image).
Anyhow, here’s what I’ve been up to in those spare moments:
Inspired by images of George S. Patton from WWII, the General only managed to sneak in as a small portrait image accompanying the mission briefings. Eventually I’d like to add him as a playable character. He could call in a strafing run as his main attack… Oh, that’s a bit too Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Anyway, it’ll be something impressive.
In the above image, you can see I may or may not be making some pre-rendered clips for a trailer for the game. I also may be enjoying setting up a few scenes similar to this, one of which may include a bridge or perhaps even parachutes! Let’s see how we go.
Josh continues to plough through the last few issues. Seventeen (he crossed of a few as I wrote this) nine more to go! I still don’t want to promise a submission date, but the game is neeaaarly ready. Nearly!
Cheers for reading,
